13  Tracking changes

This section summarizes the changes made to Arabesque over time, for each of the chapters and sections.

13.1 Cosmetics

July 2024:
First step towards the possibility of improving flowmap layouts.

Added the possibility to write a title (at the top and center of the page), to add some sources and authors (at the footer to the left).

13.2 Data pre processing

Automatic calculation of indicators when importing the edge dataset. See here.

June 2025

  • For nodes: rename balance into balancedegree.

January 2025

  • For links: added balance and gross flow indicators

  • For nodes: added balance, volume and asymmetry indicators.

13.3 Data importation

June 2020

In Arabesque 2, you have to declare or to import your nodes firstly, both for standard import and for “standard localisation codes” and “custom localisation file”.

13.4 Designing the links/arrows

Improvements of the graphical semiology or the geometry of lines or arrows. See here.

June 2025

  • Lines’ stroke: possibility of action on the contour of the lines : color and thickness.

March 2025

  • Lines’ size : possibility to select all variables available in the dataset (and not only on the variable declared at import of data.

13.5 Designing the nodes

Improvements of the semiology/symbology of nodes. See here.

June 2024

  • Added the possibility of displaying labels of nodes.

13.7 Interoperability

March 2025: Added the possibility of interoperability with other online applications for network processing, in order to filter and geovisualize them in Arabesque. See Interoperability.

May 2025

  • Ability to read datasets from CorText manager through a single link.
    You can still import two sets of data (one for nodes and one for edges) from the Arabesque’ import home page.

April 2025

  • Ability to read data from Netscity, by playing with Arabesque in Netscity.
